I took this photo at Gettysburg National Military Park on a cold day after a night of snowfall. Though most snow had melted under the bright sun, the sky remained crisp and clear. I came across a fence next to a tree, and a line from "The Shawshank Redemption" popped into my head: Andy tells Red, "At the base of that wall, you'll find a rock... It's a piece of black volcanic glass." I felt tempted to search for Andy's rock.
